The call for protests against the recent wide arbitrary detentions in South Azerbaijan

To all Azerbaijanis and world libertarians;
While the Turkish nation of South Azerbaijan progress democratic struggle to regain national rights by peaceful demonstrations and actions, the racist regime of Iran has chosen the use of violence against peaceful struggle of Azerbaijanis for freedom. Furthermore, the Iranian government has increased its systematic pressures toward Azerbaijani political and cultural activists of South Azerbaijan National Movement over the last few weeks. Tehran government started a new wave of detentions and kidnapping of political and cultural activists, apprising us that a new era in suppressing Azerbaijan National Movement has been opened.
Tens of prominent Azerbaijani political activists, journalist, writers and human rights defenders have been arrested or kidnapped from their house or work place, or were summoned to be present in court just over the few last weeks. Reportedly detained activists are subjected to physical and psychological tortures or other types of ill-treatments. Families of detainees are threatened to not react against the oppressions and arbitrary detentions.
Persian media and centralist political currents, including the Green Movement supporters did not pay any attention to the wide detentions of Azerbaijani activists, and have not shown any reactions against the ongoing events. The centralist currents are reflecting their apartheid approach of freedom, democracy and human rights and show that they do not have any differences with the regime in their racist thoughts.
It is now the task to South Azerbaijani activist living abroad to make the voice of our people reach to the people all over the world. It is our task to shout the voice of our detained brothers and sisters who just struggle for freedom. To shout the misery of our brothers and sisters who are not only oppressed by the racist regime of Iran but also are subjected to the boycott of so called Green libertarians!
We call all Azerbaijanis all over the world to protest the inhuman politics of Iran racist regime against Turks in south Azerbaijan. We claim that the silence and inaction against the oppressions and pressures of the regime toward Azerbaijanis will make Iran regime more confident in his way in suppressing detainees and pushing down the demonstrations.
We, as a group of South Azerbaijani activists in Turkey, call all Azerbaijanis all over the world to call the days 5-12 July (14-21 Tir) as “The Week for the Defense of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners” which is also the anniversary of Babek Remembrance, the symbol of resistance for the Turkish Nation of Azerbaijan. Also we demand them to organize demonstrations to protest and condemn the racist politics of Iranian regime in front of United Nation offices in their country of residence in that period. The well organized protests all over the world will show the soul of national will in our national movement. Moreover, the demonstration in Turkey will take place in Ankara on Friday 9 July (18 Tir) in front of UN office at 15:30.
